Mr. Buck will be taking his students to the Construction Awareness Days in Aberdeen on September 23rd.

Anybody in grades 7-12 who is NOT in Mr. Buck's class may also attend.  Please see Mr. Buck to sign up by Friday Sept 12th if you would like to attend.  See the flyer outside of Mr. Buck’s room if you would like more info! We will be back in time for practices after school!


Anybody in grades 7-12 who is interested in being on a robotics team, please see Mr. Buck.

Attention Peer Helpers:  We will have our first meeting THIS Thursday, during lunch, in Mrs. Fraser's classroom.  Please go to the front of the lunch line & bring your food quickly to Mrs. Fraser's room so that we can get started right away!  :)


The class Olympics will be returning to our homecoming festivities!  All students in grades 7 -12 - there is a bucket in Ms. Myer's office - please drop in any new suggestions you have for class Olympics games!

Thursday, September 18 – Fake an Injury Day (This is also Lifetouch picture day.)

Friday, September 19 – Spirit Day


Coronation is Monday, September 15 at 7:30 in the school gym.


Class meetings for grades 7 - 12 will be on Monday, September 8 during 5th hour.


Classes will be window painting on Monday, September 15 at 2:15


Volleyball game versus Faulkton is Tuesday at 6:30 pm

Football game versus Potter County is Friday at 7:00 pm

Dance to Follow Homecoming Game


Schedule for Friday

8:20 - meet in 1st hour for attendance, then bring classes to gym.

8:30 – Pep rally – then Class Olympics games for grades 7 - 12

Following Class Olympics - float building time

Band will start lunch at noon - all others will start at 12:22

1:00 - Parade

Classes are dismissed by advisers following parade clean up.  Buses will run or elementary parents may pick up students in classroom.


Elementary:  You are welcome to come and join in the pep rally on Friday morning and watch as much of the class Olympics as you choose.  There will be games both inside the gym and outside in the track area.


Any sophomore or junior interested in taking the PSAT, please sign up in Miss Butler's room.  The deadline is September 25, 2014.


Any 9-12 grade student interested in attending the Aberdeen Scrubs Camp on October 14, please see Miss Butler for more information.  To register, go to http://scrubscamps.sd.gov/camp-locator/ Deadline for registration is September 30, but spots are filling up quickly!  Careers to be showcased this year include:  EMT/fire rescue, medical assisting, dietetics, optometrist, SDMYLIFE, surgery, speech therapy, and radiology (XRAY).


All juniors and seniors will be attending the College and Career Planning Days at NSU on October 2.  Leave time will be determined soon.


The PSAT will be given on October 14 at 8:30am in Miss Butler's room.  Any sophomores or juniors interested in taking this should sign up with Miss Butler.


The USD rep will be here on October 21.  Any junior or senior interested in meeting with her, please sign up by the HS principal's office.



ACT Reminders and Updates:  For those juniors and seniors taking the ACT, here are a few reminders and updates-

  • You are restricted to taking the test only 12 times.
  • You can pay an extra fee on the December, April, and June tests to get your answer sheet and book back for review.
  • SD has implemented a state tax on the ACT.  Pay attention to that fee when you are registering-
  • When registering for the ACT, take advantage of the free test scores...pick 4 schools to send those results to.
